Online Zoom course: Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs : False Beginners and Improvers Reading and Review

This class is designed to provide a refresher after a gap of almost 1 year.  The class will review grammar from approximately Collier and Manley Chapters 4-6 and include appropriate readings in order to fine tune and review text decipherment skills.  The class is suitable for those who have done some introductory hieroglyphs at various levels but is not suitable for absolute beginners or advanced students.  New students unsure about if the level is right for them are welcome to email the tutor.

Biography of John Billman

John Billman John Billman is Chairman of the Thames Valley Ancient Egypt Society and the South Asasif Conservation Trust. John has an MA in Egyptian Archaeology from UCL and has been teaching continuing education classes for over a decade with organizations including the Oxford University Department of Continuing Education, the WEA and TVAES. John combines teaching with fieldwork in Egypt, his interests in the subject are wide-ranging but include material culture, archaism, the Kushite period and state formation.
