Abstract

Dylan BickerstaffeNefertari, the Great Royal Wife of Ramesses II appears on numerous monuments, received the most exquisitely decorated tomb, and even had her own temple at Abu Simbel. In this talk we consider the reasons why she was so uniquely honoured by the mighty Ramesses; especially when compared to his other Great Wife, Isitnofret.

Biography

First gaining archaeological experience on Roman sites in Britain, Dylan travelled widely in the Middle East, before foccusing his attention on ancient Egypt. Over the last twenty years he has had numerous articles published in journals, magazines and books; organised and led tours to both popular and remote sites in Egypt, Crete and Italy; and given over 150 talks at events in Britain and abroad.
